So basically, the three supers from 3S are going to be the super and two ultras in SSF4?  For all three characters?  I'm not sure about Ibuki's ultra from the trailer, since I almost never use Ibuki, but it seems like that could be the case for Dudley and Makoto.

Apparently they got Makoto's VA from 3s to reprise her role in SSF4! Too bad no Francis Diakowsky for Dudley.

I looked up Mr. Diakowsky on IMDb, and apparently he vanished after the year 2000.  Too bad, really, Dudley had my favorite voice work for any character in 3S, although I don't hate his new voice as much as the internet seems to. 

Also, I'm jealous of your talent, Amanda.  You did that when, an hour or two after the big trailer?

Dudley seems terrifying.  Makoto less so, but super-canceling into an ultra is pretty beastly.  Beware of two full meters, right?

Dudley looks like top tier material.  Easy combos --> Ultra is almost always a sign

Makoto's mixups look a little toned down but still a contender based on damage potential alone.

Ibuki looks like a lot of fun but it makes you think...


The new characters are kind of a huge FU by Capcom for the people that were practicing with the low tiers from the first game.  Why play C. Viper when it looks like Ibuki will be very similar but probably even better?  Why play Fei Long when Makoto looks like a stronger character?

I think it's too soon to make a judgment like this.  What reason is there to believe that Fei Long and C. Viper will have changes that help them out a bit?  Seth Killian and the other SF4 people have made a big deal of their rebalancing efforts.  And is C.Viper really low tier?  I see her in a lot of videos. 

But hey, as long as Vega/claw stays low-tier, I'm happy.  That asshole can rot in unplayable hell.

And is C.Viper really low tier?  I see her in a lot of videos. 

She's only high tier if you can do the insane High Jump Cancels and Thunder Knuckle Cancels 100% of the time to get out her really damaging/dizzying combos.

Even more so than Rufus, I find it unbearably hard to look at Hakan--especially his oily moveset. I just got a lot less excited about Super Street Fighter IV (but I'm still getting it day one).

I hope he doesn't become popular...

Also, I agree with the comments Matt made about C. Viper and Fei Long in relation to Ibuki and Makoto, but only in the sense that these characters seem very similar to each other. Tiers aside, I find that hard to argue, and am a little disappointed that some of the new characters seem somewhat like clones of others. Of course, Capcom has a history of making seemingly similar characters play pretty differently (look at shotos... or even Boxer as compared to Dudley), so I guess we'll have to wait and see exactly what the low-downs are on each character.
