So, another Gamers Club festival has come and gone. So what was everybody's impression on the first Thursday festival? I personally felt the turnout was quite decent for such a bad day of the week. And better yet, there was a good balance between the hardware available and the number of TVs. I never felt that there were a lot of TV sets that were going unused as it was in the past. And it was great playing Mario Party with Will. It's been years since I played it and my skills have definitely deteriorated, but it was fun.

I'd have more to say, but I just got back not too long ago.

Yeah, I was worried about how the Festival would fare on a Thursday, too - especially when Honya and I showed up at half-past noon and found the whole room empty. The pace of things picked up after a while, though, and I ended up skipping classes I didn't mean to miss in order to have fun. Damn you guys for hosting an entertaining event! lol

I just wish I had gotten some chances to play Street Fighter IV with some people on my skill level. I know better than to pick fights with Matt and co., and when it takes me a dozen matches just to notch one win against a sleep-deprived Sollosi who isn't even using his main character... well, that should speak volumes about my skill. But for my first time playing SFIV and seeing it in action, I was completely impressed.

Also, on behalf of CAINE, thanks for letting us hijack your SSBB setup and pretty much turn the Festival into our club meeting's activity of the week.

tl;dr this semester's festival proved people will come to play games no matter what day or time it is

As Leon said, I'm extremely pleased with the Thursday turnout, and the overall utilization of stations was definitely an improvement from the Fall Festival (curse those home games!). Special thanks to the tournament hosts and everyone that put in hardware for the event. I don't think things could have gone more smoothly.

I've kind of noticed that the 360 isn't really a big thing within our gaming community, at least outside of myself and Campbell. My station seemed to be the least often used, which is OK with me since I could walk over almost any time of the day and could play it without traffic, haha. Not sure if it's just because SF IV has got a strong hold on gamers' interest right now, but it's just an observation I've made for myself. *shrugs* I likes my box, so it's cool Tongue

Looking forward to reading more comments. Any good info for future festivals is always welcome! (At lease for the upcoming soon-to-be-decided presidents, nudge nudge.)
