THE LIST: Recommend five people who write about games.

We'll be discussing the way people write about games in Big Episode 41, so we want to know who you think are the best/important/entertaining writers out there. Major game websites, niche blogs, magazines, books... all are fair game. What matters is that that they're people you enjoy, respect, and would suggest to other readers and listeners of Low Score.

Submit here, via email, or on the blog. And solicit your friends for responses too!

Zero Punctuation isn't exactly *writing*, but it's about games...
I do think anyone who doesn't know about it should hear about it, since he has the most entertaining reviews I've seen.

If you want to call them reviews...

Basically, everyone from GiantBomb. Not that I always agree with them, but they all have distinct personalities and are usually good reads. For me, they're like the first video game writers that are easy to pick out individually since there's only a few of them consistently working on the site (as opposed to the big sites like IGN and GameSpot who have who knows how many writers).

Update:

In this episode: Dramatic Reading, WhatCHA Playin'?, Should Bobby Buy?, Items of Note, Let's Discuss and THE LIST

We kick things off with part four of our Castlevania II Worlds of Power novelization dramatic reading, in which we see mysteries solved, temptation overcome, and the rise of Lord Dracula! It'sa gonna be-a really-scary! I'm not-a kiddin' you this time.

Bobby has continued to play Mass Effect 2 in between sessions of Plants vs Zombies on the iPhone, and J picked up Assassins Creed.

Bobby asks J whether or not he should buy four different games, and J tells him to save his money for Rock of the Dead.
This week's discussion topic was videogame writing. That is, writing about videogames. We break down and describe the different categories of writers and discuss how they're relevant to the field at large. This bleeds right into THE LIST for episode 41: THE LIST: Recommend five people who write about games. If your THE LIST was not read on the air, we'll be reading it next episode. We got a lot of submissions after we recorded, but we owe it to you to make your voice heard.

I like what J had to say about Assassin's Creed.  I feel pretty similar.  I wouldn't say "the game is flawed" so much as there are two ways to play it: you can make it a really wild four hour game, or a tedious twelve hour game.

Basically it's up to you how much you wanna fluff out your experience 'til you feel you've gotten your money's worth.  I played the full 12 hours  Tongue

Wasn't touching those flag achievements, though.  That looked like hell.
